A totally unique range of dog toys, sold under the Chuckit brand, has just become available. The toys are made from a combination of memory foam and tooth-rugged nylon giving them superior flight in the air and high floatation in water. Certain areas on the toys are rubber lined to provide grip. Because of the materials used and the design, these toys are soft for a dog’s mouth, but also tough and strong. Memory foam has the ability to produce a light, soft and buoyant toy. The material is also durable and keeps its shape. All the new amphibious toys are sold as unsinkable.

A novel and colourful cat toy is newly available from Trixie called Plush Top Hat with toys. This small top hat, in mauve and purple colours, has built in crinkle effect in the top and three different cat toys hanging from the inside of the inner band. The toys are made from a variety of materials, and when they are hidden away inside the hat a cats natural curiosity is stimulated. Alternatively, when the hat is turned over, three toys drop out and bounce around offering plenty of scope for owner/cat interaction.

A new company, Mines for Pets, has been launched as UK Distributors of Canine Hardware, Chuckit! and Flipo Pet Blinkers. Mines for Pets are importing currently from the US and distributing to the pet and garden centre trade, veterinary sector and mail order companies. A new website has been launched showing all current products available from the company and plenty of valuable product information. Over 30 new lines will be added to the Mines for Pets range in the next few months.

Johnsons have introduced new look packaging for Hairball Remedy for cats and kittens, part of their best selling medicinal range.

Hairball Remedy is a tasty malt flavoured paste, very attractive to cats, to help eliminate and prevent hairballs. It is especially useful for longer haired cats and may be used weekly or as required, as a preventative.
