Claire Guest, founder of Cancer and Bio-detection Dogs, the charity which has shown that dogs can be trained to detect cancer by smell, is due to appear alongside Roger Mugford on Five News this afternoon, to discuss this amazing canine ability.

The charity has taught dogs to discriminate between urine from bladder cancer patients and urine from healthy people - by detecting certain chemical compounds produced by the cancer cells.

Further studies into recognising other diseases, such as skin cancer, prostate cancer and diabetes are underway.

Roger Mugford's Company of Animals has been sponsoring the charity.
