A final call to the pet industry has been made for nominations to the 2010 Pet Industry Awards. Businesses have until Thursday 01 July to get their entries in says organiser, the Pet Care Trade Association, (PCTA). The who? The newly created Pet Care Trade Association has replaced Pet Care Trust Trading Ltd as the membership body linked to the Pet Care Trust.

According to Janet Nunn, Chief Executive, PCTA, the new name gives a clearer signal about what the Pet Care Trust does:

"We are taking practical steps to ensure members' interests are at the heart of all our activities. We are also changing the structure of our organisation and empowering members themselves to elect the directors who will best represent their interests. The first opportunity for members to do this will be at our meeting on 20 September at Petindex."

About the Pet Industry Awards, Janet Nunn, (who was also recently re-elected to the board of the European Pet Organization, [EPO]), said:

"[They are] your chance to shout about your achievements.. the Award itself and all the free publicity will bring your excellence to the notice of your customers."

Short-listed companies will receive promotion in the pet trade press, and preferential rates on tickets to the black-tie gala Awards evening. Category winners will be publicised through photographs, announcements and articles in trade media, by sponsors and media partners, PBW News, and on the PCT website.

Businesses are invited to submit entries for the following award categories:

Retailer of the Year

Grooming Business of the Year

Supplier of the Year

Animal Boarding Establishment of the Year

Pet Specialist Service of the Year

Employee of the Year

Service Innovation of 2010

Team of the Year

Best Customer Initiative of 2010

The awards dinner will take place on Sunday 19 September at the Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club, Birmingham.

As last year, the event is timed to coincide with Petindex.
