Two documents have been made available on-line to assist dog owners, neighbours of dog owners and Local Authorities to deal with the perennial problem of dogs that persistently bark when their owners leave the house.

Produced by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, (Defra), and available through the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, (CIEH) website, a leaflet (in pdf format), entitled Constant Barking Can Be Avoided offers advice to dog owners on ways of dealing with persistent barkers.
