AA Puts Pet Cover On Travel Insurance

With the PETS travel scheme well under way, owners no longer need to leave their animals at home every time they go abroad - but they should check that they have travel insurance that covers their pet, warns AA Insurance Services.

Last year, more than 40,800 pets entered the UK under the new scheme, which allows owners to take their dogs or cats on holiday with them to specified countries if the animal has the relevant vet's treatment and micro-chip before travelling.
