MEPs Vote To Ban Cosmetics Testing On Animals

MEPs in the European Parliament on Tuesday, voted for a total ban on the testing of cosmetics on animals in the EU by the end of 2004, adopting a package of animal welfare legislation.

The new legislation will bring into force an immediate ban on the animal testing of ingredients and on any further animal testing of completed products plus an immediate ban on the sale of products within the EU which contain ingredients tested on animals where alternative methods have been verified.
